A Professional Educator for School Board

My name is Lauren White and I’m  running for a seat on the Lake Travis ISD School Board, Position 2. I’m asking for your vote in the election on May 5th. As a parent and educator, I want the best for our growing community, and that means electing hard-working, experienced and effective leaders who will make the right decisions for our collective future. Essential to the success of any community is excellence in education, for which the school board plays a pivotal role.

If elected, I am committed to a school board that:

Supports its teachers and staff

  • Our teachers are the keystone to our success

Fosters academically strong and inclusive schools

  • We must provide the best educational experience for all learners

Prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of all children

  • Because academic success and emotional wellness are interdependent

Is forward-thinking both inside and outside of the classroom

  • Adapting to advancements in education while prudently planning for district growth

Believes in the importance of the relationship between community and school

  • Our schools are stronger when we all work together

Is fiscally responsible

  • We must set priorities and carefully allocate our limited resources

I grew up near Boston and attended Vanderbilt University, where I graduated with a double major in elementary and special education. I was an elementary teacher in the Washington D.C. public schools and a special education teacher in Austin ISD. My husband and I moved to the Lake Travis area five years ago so that our three children could attend school in LTISD. My two older children attend Serene Hills Elementary, and my youngest attends preschool at Lake Travis United Methodist Church Preschool and Rolly Pollies.
